Sweethearts Party Instead of braving the crowds of people at restaurants on Valentine’s Day, host your own Sweethearts Party and invite your friends, both couples and singles. While you provide a main dish, ask each guest or couple to bring a side dish. Then, light the candles, turn up the lovey-dovey music and savor a Valentine’s Day feast.

Following dinner, consider playing a board game like ‘Battle of the Sexes.’ Or, put in a romantic comedy DVD to enjoy.
Decorating Ideas:
  • Find red and pink tablecloths and napkins to play off the Valentine’s theme.
  • Light candles around the party location for a romantic ambiance.
  • Roses are usually the Valentine’s Day choice. Pick up a few bouquets at the grocery store. Or, choose less expensive carnations, which look stunning in a grouping and last longer than roses.
  • Cut out hearts to scatter on tables and hang on walls.
Gatherings with Purpose Idea:
  • Donate the flowers to a local nursing home following the party.More ideas>>
