As each “explorer” arrives, give him or her a bug hunting kit – complete with a net, magnifying glass, notepad and pencil. Have a scavenger hunt for edible items (gummy worms and bugs, etc.), making sure they’re hidden in areas that are clean! If you prefer, you can also have a real bug hunt outdoors. Let the explorers try to find as many different species as they can. Set a time limit and provide prizes for the most found.
Decorating Ideas:
- Draw, color and cut out bug pictures. Hang them on the walls and from the ceiling by taping to strings.
- Place gummy worms in Mason Jars by each place setting at the table.
