Real-Life Rainbow Birthday Party What could be more cheerful for a birthday celebration than bright and fun colors?
Below are my favorite ideas and I hope you like them as much as I do. Thank you to Andy and Laura for allowing us to share this fun theme.

Rainbow decor

One of my favorite way to decorate for any party is using tissue paper poms. They are inexpensive and pack a punch. You can find rainbow shades of tissue paper at the dollar store and create a variety of rainbow color poms to put on tables, hang from ceilings and scatter around the floor. You can also find rainbow leis that guests could wear. (Learn to make tissue paper poms at Karen at Home.)

Rainbow Cake

Now this cake makes a statement. Create a special cake with all the rainbow colors. It's not difficult to make but definitely takes a little more time. But when you see all the guests' eyes light up when the cake is cut, you'll agree that it is worth it. (Learn to make your own rainbow cake at One Charming Party.)

Rainbow cookies

You can never have too many desserts, in my opinion. Create these fun rainbow slice and bake cookies for a twist on the traditional. (Learn how to make rainbow slice and bake cookies at Good Life Eats.)

Rainbow skewers

You can't only eat cake. This healthier treat even plays into the rainbow theme. Use colorful fruits such as strawberries, pineapple, grapes, blueberries and oranges to create a rainbow on a stick. These simple fruit skewers are placed in rainbow order. The details are the best parts!
Gatherings with Purpose Idea:
  • Create a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow and ask guests to put any loose change in the pot. This can be donated to a local charity.
