Celebrating your child’s first birthday is an event to remember. Be sure to schedule the party to avoid nap time and don’t make it last too long. An hour and a half is plenty.
To make the most of your time, plan ahead and have games organized and ready to go. Attendees will enjoy activities that involve pictures/memorabilia of the honoree’s first year. Baby shower activities can work well. Or use ideas from other Gatherings themes in this section.
Decorating Ideas:
- Choosing a theme will help you coordinate your invitations, decorations, party favors, etc.
- Think pastels. They help set the mood and put your child at ease. You can hang streamers and balloons around the party room to help set the scene.
- Baby’s pictures make good decorations!
- Ask each guest to bring an item to put in a time capsule for the child to open on his or her 18 birthday. It will be a fun memory of what was going on in the world when he or she turned one!
