Repairing the Breach BBQ Losing a loved one can bring the importance of gathering your family and friends to the forefront. Even though your family may not gather often (due to distance, finances or even conflicts between family members), it's important to keep those family ties. Host a BBQ to repair the breach in your family and honor the memory of your loved one.
Decorating Ideas:
  • Ask guests to provide a photo or write a favorite memory of the lost loved one. Use these memories and photos to create a memory board for all to see when they enter the gathering space.
  • Place a baby picture and a current picture of each family member around the room. See who can make the most correct matches in the least amount of time.
  • Ask guests to bring some of their favorite photos of past family gatherings (birthday parties, graduations, picnics, etc) and hang them around the gathering space. This will remind guests of all the good times the family has had together.
Gatherings with Purpose Idea:
  • Ask attendees to rally around a common cause by bringing along a canned good to donate to a local food pantry.  More ideas>>
