It’s the most wonderful time of the year! Add some fun to the typical Christmas party. Ask guests to wear their ugliest Christmas sweater. Put a twist on the traditional gift exchange by holding an ornament exchange. Ask each guest to bring a wrapped ornament. Place the wrapped ornaments in the center of the room. Let guests draw numbers to see who picks first. The guest that draws number one picks a wrapped ornament and unwraps it as the others watch. Guest number two can either “steal” the first ornament or choose an unwrapped ornament from the pile. This continues on until the last ornament is unwrapped. This can be done with any kind of gift.
Ask attendees to bring a dozen of their favorite cookies or holiday sweets. Provide festive tins and allow guests to mix and match cookies and sweets and take a dozen home.
Provide holiday music and eggnog. If you have any guests with musical talents, a sing-a-long with favorite Christmas carols is fun.
Decorating Ideas:
- Anything red and green works at Christmastime.
- Put candles around the room to create a warm, inviting atmosphere.
- Hang gold and silver stars from the ceiling or doorways.
- String white lights in windows, on banisters, or anywhere else you can imagine to create a holiday glow.
