Engagement Party

Engagement Party Celebrate a newly engaged couple! Since an engagement party is typically held for both the bride and groom-to-be, it’s best to hold a party that is fun for both genders. Host an outdoor BBQ. Have team games such as volleyball, bag toss, or bocce ball available for guests to play. If you have the facilities, light a fire in an outdoor fire pit and roast marshmallows for S'mores.

Or, host a potluck. Ask each guest to bring a dish that is a favorite of the guests of honor. Play games related to the guests of honor such as "How well do you know each other?" Take the bride-to-be in a private room and ask her 10 questions about her favorite things. Then ask her the same questions but she must answer for her fiancé. Then take the groom-to-be in the room and repeat. Once they have given their answers, bring all guests together and reveal the questions and answers. This can be very funny and gives a good idea of how well they know each other!
Decorating Ideas:
  • Place pictures of the engaged couple around the party space.
  • Place a countdown to the date of the wedding in a prominent spot.
  • Hang wedding bells, streamers, and "Congratulations" banners around the space.
Gatherings with Purpose Idea:
  • In honor of the couple's ability to light up each other's lives, ask guests to bring a package of energy-efficient light bulbs to be donated to elderly or homebound residents in your area. More ideas>>>
