From Transformers to Star Wars, robots are the rage for young boys. A robot theme can make a birthday party or other gathering a real hit.
To set the mood, send invitations that are shaped like robots. Serve cookies shaped as robots or cake decorated with a robot in frosting. Play games with the robot theme like “Robot Says” (similar to Simon Says). Or, have a contest to make the best robot out of pipe cleaners, boxes, hardware and tin foil.
Decorating Ideas:
- Use nuts and bolts to decorate the room. Scatter them on tables, hang them from banners and the ceiling and fill up glass jars for easy centerpieces.
- Use a strobe light or flashing lights in the room.
- Use tin foil or silver pipe cleaners to decorate. Make balls of tin foil to scatter around the room or cover boxes in tin foil to make your own robots.
- To save money and remain true to the robot theme, find robot stickers and stick them on solid-colored plates, napkins and cups.
