Snapshots A great theme for a family gathering or reunion, ask all guests to bring copies of their favorite family photos (old or new). Set up a do-it-yourself “photo booth” with a camera with a timer on a tripod. Place this in front of a nice background and allow family members to take new photos individually or as a group. Find more tips for capturing the members under Plan a Family Reunion, Tips & Heirlooms.

Spread out all the photos on a table and spend time revisiting old memories. At the end of the night, gather all photos and scan them into a computer. You can send a disc to each guest with all the favorite photos along with the new photos from the party.
Decorating Ideas:
  • Frame a few of your favorite family photos in black and white to decorate the room.
  • Use black and white table linens and decorations to avoid competing with the photos.
  • Have designated areas for guests to spread out their photos. These photos will be the best decoration of all.
Gatherings with Purpose Idea:
  • Ask guests to bring unused photo frames to donate to an area VA hospital. More ideas>>
